SOLVED: Device notifier starts VLC instead of File manager...

Let's archive the solution with this post.

A while ago I added the action of opening a folder with VLC to the RMB menu in Dolphin.
This added VLC to the list, at first place, above "open in file light" etc.
Clicking a folder in Dolphin of course navigates to the folder.
However, clicking on the folder in the plasma context (e.g. desktop file widget, device notifier)
now opens the folder in ...VLC.
Stupid, of course: the default action never was to open it in file light when this was on top of the list
of RMB open-with actions.
I consider it a bug in KDE that adding something to the RMB menu of Dolphin (for folders) causes this action
to be the default when left clicking the item.

Will file a bug in KDE

Original post:

*************************
Arch system with kde, updated today.

When I plug in a USB thumbdrive, the device notifier offers the option to open the device with file manager.
However, when I select this option, VLC is started and it of course complains that it cannot read the .doc etc.
files that are on the drive.

I have this problem both with arch (desktop) and kubuntu (notebook).
Removing VLC (Pacman -R vlc) solves the problem. Reinstalling VLC causes the problem again.
I looked at the definition of the action in the device notifier but cannot see any difference with/without
VLC installed.

Any clues?
