Gnome 3.2 "Online Accounts"

In Gnome 3.2, in the upper right hand corner of the screen, my name appears. I can click on that, and change my "status" to "Available". However, my status still appears to be unavailable as the chat bubble with the "X" in it still appears next to my name outside the menu. It does say available inside the actual menu though. I added Google to my "Online Accounts" as well, and am seeing the same effect.

What is the point of "Online Accounts"? Whether I am available or not, I don't see that I am actually "signed into" anything. Am I missing something obvious? Need more information?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: Gnome 3.2 "Online Accounts"

The idea is that, having registered your account, you should be able to use the built-in chat functions of gnome shell and the drop-down calendar menu should display your upcoming google calendar events. Try re-adding your Google account after starting Evolution, that worked for me when I experienced a similar problem.
