TTY Login - Autoinput user possible?

Is it possible to have the user in the text login already entered or hidden?

I only have one user set up for login, and I would just rather not having to enter my sole login username on every login.

I use mingetty for spawning ttys.

Not exactly, because I still want to be prompted for a password.

I tried following the instructions in your posted link before, but it logged me in without a password prompt.

You can do this with a display manager.
I think of this one https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/CDM .

Re: TTY Login - Autoinput user possible?

I have tried CDM before, but I found it to be not quite was I was looking for.  I'm looking more for a console login replacement rather than what CDM provides, which looks to be a post-login session starter (something I already have a script of my own for).

I read the manual page for "login" as well, and unfortunately I feel as though I don't really have any more options short of compiling my desired behavior into "util-linux".

The thought of this makes inputting my username feel very easy smile
