Hello all,
I'm attempting to get a working light-weight but pretty desktop up and running with e17. I installed connman and econnman and all the dependencies associated with them according to AUR, I ran systemctl enable connman.service and restarted, but still when I log in connection manager in e17 shows an exclamation point and when I right click>settings it tells me that it can not find connman and to check to see if it is running. Also, this all seems to have broken my net.auto.wireless in the mean time. I am happy to post any config you need to see and would really appreciate any help you all can give me on the subject. Please do not tell me to just use wicd or networkmanager as I know those are options but I'd much prefer a nicely integrated module if at all possible.

When you left click on the Connection Manager, does it bring up a list of wireless networks? Econnman is the settings interface, but it's not required for the Connection Manager to work.
If it doesn't, what's the output of:
systemctl status connman.service

no, no network list shows up
here is the output you asked for:
connman.service - Connection service
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/connman.service; enabled)
Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Fri, 2012-11-30 18:04:49 CET; 1h 2min ago
Process: 265 ExecStart=/usr/sbin/connmand -n (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE)
CGroup: name=systemd:/system/connman.service

ok, so it's not an e17/Connection Manager or econnman issue, connman itself is crashing. Let's check the journal and see if we can figure out why.
journalctl -u connman
Offline
all I get with that command is something like this repeated over and over
logs begin at (time date, yesterday) and end (today time and date)

It sounds like this is a fresh install, have you changed any of your journald settings? Does sudo journalctl give you the full system log?
edit: since you got econnman from the AUR, I just want to check and make sure we're talking about connman from the official community repo, not connman-git from the AUR, right?

that's the output from journalctl
I have not edited journals in any way, this was longer but it failed to copy the first time I ran the command, and I closed to terminal too soon, this is what I got the second time, but the first was basically all repeats of this, and yes this is a new install. Installed xfce originally, wasn't a big fan so I tried e17.

so the log is working, but there are no entries for connman. Odd.
I should have asked this earlier, but if you do a systemctl restart connman, does systemctl status connman change to Active: active (running)?
Offline
sudo systemctl restart connman
[sudo] password for mike:
Job for connman.service failed. See 'systemctl status connman.service' and 'journalctl -xn' for details.

alright, now we're getting somewhere. Take a look at /etc/dbus-1/system.d/connman.conf, see if all of the tags are opened and closed correctly (or just post it up here).

There was an extra /policy tag, good news is connman now runs but I can not connect sending this from my mobile. Every time I try to connect I get an input/output error I also checked the journals I get big red text that's says ath: phy0: tx while inFull_SLEEP mode. Also says deauthenticating by local choice reason=3
Offline
turns out I can connect to unsecured networks, I'm assuming it's a problem with WPA2 encryption? Maybe a problem with wpa_supplicant? I have no idea how to check that
Offline
I had the same problem. Solved this with: systemctl disable net-auto-wireless.

This is not the same problem. 9ou were trying to run two network management daemons at once, which has nothing to do with the issue described in this thread.
Also connman is a young active project, so there is likely much that has changed in just a few months.
