(Solved) exec ~/.xinitrc

has somthing changed? I use .xinitrc to execute startup apps and they do not execute any more unless I put the pre syntax exec even though the file(.xinitrc) itself is executable. before it worked fine to use the programe name like mpd & as opposed to exec mpd &.

is this just some wierdness with my config or how it is now. took some work in that testing to see what was wrong(lets see if this works..lol).

I have not done anything diff except had to reinstall with new HD.

oh I think I know what I did before I did not have the .xinitrc executable(sorry) but also found that the window manager does not need a exec infront of it as long as the file itself is.
