Partitions to Fstab in Installation

Hello,

I reinstalled arch a couple days ago, and i'm using GPT now for my partition table.

I also created seperate partitions for /var, /boot, and
/home, along with my root partition /.

I followed the steps In the beginners guide and generated an
fstab. However it only generates one entry, for my root
partition. Its possible that i may have mounted them in the wrong order,
which the guide says is important
[i dont understand why.... enlighten me plz smile]

Is that what it's supposed to do, or did I do something wrong?

Am I meant to manually add my other partitions to my fstab
file?

Is so, why?

Re: Partitions to Fstab in Installation

The important thing is that you mounted your root partition before the others. If you didn't, not only will genfstab not detect them, but files will be installed to the wrong place.

As for why this is, you need to mount them in the new root filesystem you're setting up, not in /mnt of the live disk.
