Can not find/connect to Networkprinter

Hello

I would like to setup network printing.

I have a Epson WF 2650 and am using a Lenovo T460.
Like in the wiki I did the following things.

1. Install the cups, ghostscript, and gsfonts packages.
2. Install the avahi package.

All done.

3. Start Avahi ok, just did:

sudo systemctl enable avahi-daemon.service

4. Restart CUPS,

sudo systemctl restart org.cups.cupsd.service

5. Start "avahi-discover"
Used the GUI, saw some entries, all of them had the same address, took one.

6. do:

ping EPSON6BBAC3.local

to verify it is working

Well ... no.

ping: EPSON6BBAC3.local: Name or service not known

The printer is turned on and connected to the Internet. I can print with my Smartphone via GoogleCloudPrint.

What information do I need to give and what do I need to do to make it work?

I had similar problems while trying to connect to the network printer in my office and posted it. Paul Kerry explained it to me in baby steps, see 4th post of the following topic:

Hi,

sorry for my abscence, had stuff to do.

I solved it by myself as follows.
1. I ignored the ping test.
2. I looked for specific drivers for my printer. But for my Epson WF2650 they don't exist. Then I found the epson-escpr drivers in the AUR.
3. Installed the epson-escpr package and then "printer settings" appeared. Opened it and added this printer as a network printer.

I would be happy to have if I solved the problem on the command line, but it works.

But I will reread the wiki-entry for avahi, thank you both
