mouse pointer invisible after recent update

I updated yesterday (22/2) and after a reboot, my mouse pointer, previously the paragon of reliability, disappeared. It was there, but invisible.

I downgraded libinput to 1.1.7-1, and the pointer reappeared on a reboot.

Is anyone else having this problem? How do I force it to appear?

Re: mouse pointer invisible after recent update

No clue, but you might tell us what video chipset and driver you are using.  You might also mention whether it is Xorg or Wayland and which WM/DE you are using.

Chipset: 3rd Gen Intel Core i7 integrated graphics. Xorg (Wayland is installed as a dependency, but otherwise, just issue a startx on logging into the console). No DE. OpenBox WM.

Re: mouse pointer invisible after recent update

I have the same problem.

The pointer becomes invisible at the first login after boot, logging out and re-login makes it reappear.

Using 4th Gen Intel i5 integrated graphics.
DE = xfce
WM = xfwm4
btw I'm using linux-lts

Downgrading libinput does not resolve my problem

Re: mouse pointer invisible after recent update

Just switched to linux-lts and having the same issue in XFCE. Mouse pointer is invisible (but functional) and only becomes visible if I logout and login again.

EDIT: It looks like at least in my case it was a problem with the intel drivers. I installed xf86-video-mesa and uninstalled xf86-video-intel and now the mouse cursor is always visible.

Re: mouse pointer invisible after recent update

I switched to a different Kernel, that worked for me. With 4.1.19 mouse pointer was invisible until I restarted lightdm.
Now i have 4.4.5 wich works great.
