Switch to full disk encryption.

I have a well working Arch install on my desktop and would like to switch to full disk encryption. I think I have used Luks on LVM on my other laptop which works fine.

Is there a simple way of getting that on the other machine too? I do have strage available for the existing install but I'm not sure about the pitfalls. Are there any resources that touch that matter?

Re: Switch to full disk encryption.

Copy your data somewhere, do a full encrypted reinstall, copy data back.

Not a Sysadmin issue, moving to NC...

Hm, yes. Which leaves me with a ton of uninstalled stuff. Is there a solution that includes the system level data as well?

Just make sure if you use rsync to pass the correct flags to preserve permissions and special flags.
For example I forgot once about that and turned out ping and similar tools stopped working for regular users because of lack of permissions.
Then I figured it out a few days later.
