gpg sometimes confused after reboot

Hi all,
I noticed that sometimes, after reboot, I can't seem to be able to utilize gpg to access my secret keys. It manifests itself by blocking, without error, when I try to do any operation that accesses my private key, looking as if its waiting for user input:
- access any password using 'pass
- decrypt operations (encrypt uses matching public key and this works fine)

At first I thought that gpg-agent is messed up and tried restarting ('gpg-connect-agent /bye') but this didn't do anything. 'gpg --list-secret-keys' would report an error (I can't recall details currently because right now everything works fine).
I tried changing the passphrase to nothing, but the same behavior would repeat itself.

Reboot fixed it, but I'm not really happy seeing that there's issues with my keyring. I tried googling around but found nothing.

Anyone experienced anything similar?

Not a Sysadmin issue, moving to NC...
