Strange behaviour involving Apple keyboard and Gnome

I use a Macbook Air and I have switched the Apple key and the AltGr key using

$ echo options hid_apple swap_opt_cmd=1 | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/hid_apple.conf

This works well. However, when I use Gnome 3, the top left key (below the Esc key) prompts a shutdown menu. If I try to manually remap the top left key, then another key starts prompting a shutdown menu.

That behaviour doesn't exist with Openbox for example.

If you have non-english keyboard, check gnome-control-center -> Region & Laguage -> Input sources if there's a macintosh specific input source available for your language.

Re: Strange behaviour involving Apple keyboard and Gnome

I have tried using a Ubuntu 16.04 USB key (so using Unity). The problem does not appear.
