Controlling power LED

I've been a lurker and daily arch user for many years, and somehow I have just now come to the first ever question that the search bar and wiki have both failed me on. I guess that speaks to the documentation.

My goal is to take control of my power LED from the user space.

I have dug around in sys/class/leds, and poked around my BIOS to no avail. The motherboard is an ASUS x99-Deluxe-II

It is possible that what I want to do simply isn't possible, but I thought that I would ask before I gave up.

Is there any other place I could look for control of this? Is it possible that user space control exists but LEDS hasn't discovered it.

I feel like it should be possible. If all else fails I will make a small board with a microcontroller that can sit in line with the LED and come up on the USB bus, but that is annoying for sure.

Any ideas?

Thanks guys!
