I initially wanted to use redshift, but redshift just didn't change the screen temperature.
Since redshift uses RandR I then tried xrandr --output HDMI-0 --gamma 100:0:0
Again no error and no gamma change happened. By sheer luck I then unplugged the HDMI cable only to discover
that when I plugged it back in the gamma change suddenly was applied and changing it now suddenly works.
The thing now is that I don't want to have to unplug and plug in my HDMI cord every time it gets dark.
The Nouveau driver doesn't have this weirdness but I like my desktop without screen tearing.
I am using the latest nvidia 375.26-1 and nvidia-libgl 375.26-2.
lspci -k graphics card section:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GK107 [GeForce GTX 650] (rev a1)
Subsystem: ZOTAC International (MCO) Ltd. Device 2263
Kernel driver in use: nvidia
Kernel modules: nouveau, nvidia_drm, nvidia
Edit: Reported it to NVIDIA.
I appreciate any help.
Best regards,
