Connect to Windows samba share, character set

Hi
I attempt to connect to our Windows server using the instructions at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sa … c_mounting

It works fine but only the diacrytical characters are displayed wrong.

I tried he iocharset=iso8859-1 and iocharset-utf8 options but they both dont-t work properly.

In KDE Konsole Ü is displayed as '$'\334' in iso88590 and as '$'\303\234' when using utf8
in Dolphin it is displayed as inversed question mark.

/etc/vconsole.conf:
KEYMAP=us-acentos
FONT=
FONT_MAP=
/etc/locale.conf
LC_MONETARY=de_CH.UTF-8
LC_TELEPHONE=de_CH.UTF-8
LC_IDENTIFICATION=de_CH.UTF-8
LC_NUMERIC=de_CH.UTF-8
LC_MEASUREMENT=de_CH.UTF-8
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LC_NAME=de_CH.UTF-8
LC_ADDRESS=de_CH.UTF-8
LC_TIME=de_CH.UTF-8
LC_PAPER=de_CH.UTF-8

Re: Connect to Windows samba share, character set

try utf16 and check the codepage on the windows machine ("chcp" in cmd.exe or the powershell; yes, stunningly windows provides a textshell. like it was a real OS ;-)
In doubt pass the codepage as further parameter to the mount.
