Don't have access to my home partition through steam

My home partition has 400 GB free
My root has 16 gb free
[skyroh@archlinux ~]$ df -h

tmpfs           1.6G  116K  1.6G   1% /run/user/1000

when i try to download anything through steam it says I only have 16 gb available even when i change the download path to /home/skyroh/steam
unsure where to go from here
