Hello, I started to face this problem about 4 days ago (it drives me crazy since), I started to hear distortion sound when I try to play audio, and it gets worse as I keep my device running
It happens for both of my external headphones and the internal speakers, and I can't find the exact reason for why it's happening but it seems like snd_hda_intel is failing
What I tried so far:
- I uninstalled pipewire, and just using alsa
- Disabled snd_hda_intel power saving
- Set snd_intel_dspcfg to legacy (options snd_intel_dspcfg dsp_driver=1)
- Downgrade the kernel, and using linux-lts
- Downgrade linux-firmware, alsa-firmware
But no luck...
dmesg logs (and it gets on with the same error):

I wouldn't rule out hardware problems causing this. I had an issue with the analog sound device simply disappearing completely, see my topic from over three years ago. This topic may give you some hints to try and work around the problem.
The fix ended up being replacing the main board/motherboard of my laptop, since at the time it was still under warranty.

I sent my laptop to a repair shop, and they told me the audio IC is damaged...
So yeah it's a hardware issue

I hope it's not too expensive to fix, but a lot of times the motherboard needs to be replaced if it's integrated. Good luck!
