Gran Paradiso doesn't check spelling as I type [SOLVED]

I installed firefox from the main repo (rebranded Gran Paradiso?) but noticed that it doesn't seems to check spelling as I type even though I have that option enabled:

Edit>Preferences>Advanced>Browsing

[ ] Use autoscrolling
[ ] Use smooth scrolling
[X] Check my spelling as I type

Am I missing something?

Re: Gran Paradiso doesn't check spelling as I type [SOLVED]

i'm seeing the same behavior.  i've installed all kinds of *spell packages and have functioning spell checking in OO.o and gajim.

i read somewhere you need to install a "spell checker add-on" but i couldn't find one that seemed appropriate.  i let it go b/c it doesn't bother me _that_ much.  but i'd be happy to hear the fix, i have confidence someone else will answer soon.
