[solved] how to stop x

I use to use CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE to kill the X server and change my xorg.conf and restart it.

That key sequence somehow does not work any longer.

If I stop kdm, it stops but restarts automatically.

What  I have done is change level 5 to level 3 in inittab and reboot.

But why does the CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE not work any more and why does the kdm restart automatically?

Thx

It's disabled by default now.

Add
Option "DontZap" "false"
to your server flags in xorg.conf.

Thank you so much!

That works for me.
