With KMS my screen never turns off (screensaving does not work) and surely, running the command xset dpms force off has no effect at all.
Any ideas? Anything...

Sorry no ideas but I do have the same problem on my intel 950 card

Likewise.
This happened when I updated from 2.29 to 2.29.1 of this AUR kernel, the latter being KMS-enabled.
I also updated my xorg.conf to "AccelMethod" "UXA" (using an intel driver).

Running KMS, DRI2 and UXA on my 2 laptops (eee 1000 with 945 and dell latitude d830 with 965) I cannot force dpms off using xset. I just tried on my desktop (965) with the same settings and it works... how weird...

FWIW, it works here.

- xf86-video-intel 2.7.0-1
- (II) intel(0): direct rendering: DRI2 Enabled
- (**) intel(0): Option "AccelMethod" "UXA"
- fb0: inteldrmfb frame buffer device
[edit] forgot to add (no idea if it's important or not) but kernel is patched so I could re-enable tiling [/edit]
