[SOLVED] Xorg & Xfce4 usb

Hey guys,

I'm new to Archlinux. Just installed it, Xorg, and Xfce4. As soon as I startx or startxfce4, I have no mouse or keyboard. They're both USB so I suspect this is the problem. I have to hard reboot because I can not reset the xserver after I'm in it.

Any help would be greatly appriciated, looking really forward to this great flavor of linux.

Is hal daemon started ? Do you have an /etc/xorg.conf ?
Do a 'less /var/log/Xorg.0.log' and see any keyboard/mouse message related.

Can you try giving it a ride w/ a non-USB kbd/mouse?
Do you have all the drivers? Please, please, please read the wiki - there's a lot about X & HAL.

Did you install xf86-input-evdev, xf86-input-keyboard and xf86-input-mouse ?

Re: [SOLVED] Xorg & Xfce4 usb

Thanks a lot guys. Just needed to enable hal and add it to rc.conf.

Xfce is running without a hitch and I'm loving Archlinux so far.
