Arch i686 Xorg lost keyboard.

After a update on a mediacenter that is in use at our club-room the keyboard lost input in xorg. I have checked the xorg conf a thousand times.
Used xorg.conf from a working computer with nearly identical hardware.

the weird thing is that When numlock is enabled it enters the numbers in xorg. The keyboard ofcourse works in tty.
Its a mediacenter keyboard so the numpad is "integrated" into the keys.
In gnome -> keyboard layout i have it properly configured aswell and HAL is running. Mouse is working fine.
Keyboard also doesent work over Synergy or VPN. Which is really weird.
Seems like Gnome is unable to take control over the keyboard.
Ive reinstalled xorg, gnome, kernel and practically everything i came to think of. And finally decided to install arch64 next to it.

Mostly out of curiosity im asking if anyone knew what could couse this.

Re: Arch i686 Xorg lost keyboard.

im awhere of the hotplugging. And this can not be the issue since the MOUSE is working and the numpad. If hal wouldnt be running it wouldnt take any input at all.
And even with hotplugging disabled it doesent work. Aka in xorg conf adddevice false or what the option was.

Good tip thou for others smile

Ok - it wasn't clear from your explanations whether you knew about HAL handling them now so it was a safe bet wink.

Grep the Xorg log for errors, maybe it shows something.

Another funny thing.

Xorg log is completely clean. ive been rebooting computer / restarting xorg and not a single error. everything seems to load fine.

And even if HAL wouldnt be loaded it SHOULD be possible to enter input thru either VPN or Synergy. I think xD

I'm having the same problem; have you put, "AutoAddDevices" as "False" under your ServerFlags? I have, but the keyboard is still not working under X sad
