Xfce shutdown/restart box is gone

I noticed  when shutting down Arch, instead of just shutting down until it turns off it goes to the Gnome login screen/box where I have to click shut down there for it to turn off or restart. How do I make it bypass the login box to shutdown? The regular Xfce shutdown/restart box is gone.

How do you get the Xfce box with the shutdown and restart buttons to appear when hitting logoff on the menu?

You should have something like "Session and start" in the configuration menu. The last checkbox should be "Ask on exit". (the quotes may not be literal since my Desktop menu is in Spanish)

Thank you. I did check that option, but when shutting down, it still goes to the same gnome login box. originally when I click the green man running the the lower right hand corner, it would shut down. What would control that?

I would like to set it up where when clicking on Log Out in the menu, that it goes to the Xfce shutdown/restart box, like other distros that use Xfce.

What if you try reinstalling xfce packages??? Maybe that helps, if not I think there should be a configuration setting for that. Unfortunately I don't use XFCE that often (just in virtual machine) So I don't have enough experience.

Have you seen this? http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=66729

When I once used xfce, long ago, I remember I had to add something to /etc/sudoers to get it to work right.  The above post looks like it still might be necessary. smile

Re: Xfce shutdown/restart box is gone

Thanks for the info. It's odd that it uses the Gnome login box instead of a Xfce one.
