Xorg freezing (really strange)

Hi,

I have a really strange problem. I accomplished to freeze xorg with two apps when I start them out of thunar or a terminal-window (urxvt): openoffice and gimp.

For openoffice:
-I start openoffice with selecting an arbitrary odt-file in thunar/urxvt
-I click and hold the ruler on the left side of the document for changing the position of the text in the document
-while holding the mouse button I move the marked position of the text (visualized with a dotted-line in the document) a few times up and down
-xorg freezes and no key combination works anymore
-login via ssh is possible, but I'am not able to kill any process related to xorg
-the only option is a reboot

For gimp:
-I start gimp with selecting an arbitrary image in thunar/urxvt
-I select the "Rectangle Select Tool"
-I start to select an area of the image
-while doing this I move the mouse a few times up and down
-xorg freezes...

When I start both application via itask-ng (application-starter-bar for e17) or via the execute-command in e17, and do the same things everything works correctly; no freezing.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.
