Ctrl-Alt-Backspace Again.

I couldn't be bothered to fix this at the time and need to fix it now.

I have followed the Xorg wiki page to the letter concerning DontZap adding the line to keymap etc but still cannot use ctrl-alt-bksp.

Is there a particular place I should be adding the line for the keymap file?

Please help me for my sanity

What I meant was: follow those procedures carefully and your problem will be solved.

Post your /etc/hal/fdi/policy/10-keymap.fdi and ~/.xinitrc

Did you restart hal after adding changes to /etc/hal/fdi/policy/10-keymap.fdi?

I think he was making a point about how he'd already checked the wiki and stated so in his post.

I think posting your files is probably going to solve this the fastest.

You've got input hotplugging on, so everything device-related in your xorg is getting ignored. The line in xorg conf and keymap are doing exactly the same thing (or would be if they were both getting used).

Don't think the setxkbmap is needed either - could be wrong there.

I think I read somewhere the gdm ignores everything in xinitrc?

Your fdi file should do the trick; have you restarted hal and X ?

I have yeah.

So it dont matter where the ctl-alt-bksp line is located in keymap just aslong as it is there?

Xorg log looks ok to me but i'm not a pro on such matters im afraid.
