K just installed Arch linux with Gnome and am getting a
Unable to start the settings manager 'gnome-settings-daemon'.
Without the GNOME settings manager running, some preferences may not take effect. This could indicate a problem with Bonobo, or a non-GNOME (e.g. KDE) settings manager may already be active and conflicting with the GNOME settings manager.
Error when launching themes, alsothe window decoration is ok but the buttons and tabs all gtk one.
I think I forgot to config something on the install.
Any help would be apreciated as though I used Ubuntu and Fedora for years they where to work out of the box so no experience with this yet lol.
:)

I ran gnome from the GDM.
I just installed KDE and everything works in there so its something with gnome.
Thinking it might have something to do with the groups for my user.

Possibly. Unfortunately, I'm too inexperienced with Linux to give you a good answer, but I have heard of people having similar issues that you are having solving them by creating another user account. It's one of those "this may work, but I can't tell you why it" type of things.
