Setting Conkeror as default browser

I have been playing with Conkeror, http://conkeror.org/FrontPage and - on a netbook, it is definitely an excellent choice as a browser.

I managed to set it to open links from my mail client, but I can't get it to do so in an already opened instance (on another workspace): whenever I click on a link in an email another instance of Conkeror opens in the same workspace. Has anyone managed to work around this?

My .conkerorrc has the url_remoting variable, but it (obviously) doesn't work:

url_remoting_fn = load_url_in_new_buffer;

It works like that. Have you killed all processes of Conkeror before trying it again?

Thanks Greg: yeah, I have killed both Conkeror and Thunderbird - to no avail...

Weird... I literally copy-pasted that line into my own .conkerorrc, killed conkeror, and it worked perfectly (at least from pidgin, Thunderbird doesn't open with anything in this case). I need to thank you in this instance- I never would have been industrious enough to find out how to do that on my own yikes

Re: Setting Conkeror as default browser

Bizarrely, moving the url_remoting line to the top of conkerorrc does indeed open a new buffer. That's the good news. The bad news is that it drags Conkeror into the current workspace... I'll keep looking but if anyone else has any ideas...
