I don't know what really to post here, except I just installed Openbox and some other related packages (Menumaker, Openbox Themes, etc.) but when I try to log into Openbox from GDM, I get a error.
Here's the ~/.xsession-errors from Openbox:
/etc/gdm/Xsession: Beginning session setup...
/etc/gdm/Xsession: ssh-agent not found!
/etc/gdm/Xsession: Setup done, will execute: /usr/bin/openbox-session
which: no hsetroot in (/bin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin/perlbin/site:/usr/bin/perlbin/vendor:/usr/bin/perlbin/core:/opt/qt/bin)
which: no esetroot in (/bin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin/perlbin/site:/usr/bin/perlbin/vendor:/usr/bin/perlbin/core:/opt/qt/bin)
which: no start_kdeinit in (/bin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin/perlbin/site:/usr/bin/perlbin/vendor:/usr/bin/perlbin/core:/opt/qt/bin)
tput: No value for $TERM and no -T specified
tput: No value for $TERM and no -T specified

It has the "Your session has lasted less than 10 seconds..." message.

I'm guessing that your problem is that you're trying to start one session manager, openbox-session, from another, GDM. Try starting just openbox instead of openbox-session.
