select() to /dev/rtc timeout

I am getting that wonderful error (in the subject line) on bootup...  I found this thread from 2006:  http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=18769

The --directisa is in the scripts already, so I doubt that should be the problem...  anyone else having this issue all of a sudden??

Re: select() to /dev/rtc timeout

Hello,
directisa option also didn't work for me. I've removed the "noapic" option from /boot/grub/menu.lst and hwclock started to work. (HP tx2500z)
hope it helps..

Hello The Unabeefer!

What was the big change which caused this problem ? Or is it a fresh arch install ?
