Hi to all, I'm still using KDE 4.2.4, with kdemod. I'm doubting about if i should update my system or wait until kdemod packages will be updated tu 4.3.0 versions. When i do a -Suy operation pacman says me this:
# pacman -Suy
:: Synchronizing package databases...
core is up to date
extra is up to date
community is up to date
kdemod-core is up to date
kdemod-extragear is up to date
kdemod-playground is up to date
archlinuxfr is up to date
:: Starting full system upgrade...
:: Replace phonon with extra/qt? [Y/n] n
resolving dependencies...
looking for inter-conflicts...
:: qt conflicts with qtmod. Remove qtmod? [Y/n] n
error: unresolvable package conflicts detected
error: failed to prepare transaction (conflicting dependencies)
:: qt: conflicts with qtmod
Well I answer "no" for showing you the entire output. I don't know if at this moment is secure make the upgrade, then is there any problem from upgrading now?
Thanks for your help
Cheers

Hello!
My situation is the same. I think we should wait, because Amnon82 is rebuilding the x86_64 repo at the moment, because of "provides"-problems. The i686 isn't rebuilt at the moment.
In my opinion we should wait, still the storm is gone

Hi Flasher, thanks for replying. I have no hurry and can wait without problems kde 4.2.4 works really fine for me.
The splitting methods between kde4.3 and kdemod seems different, Is it still useful kdemod for common kde4-users?
Cheers!

Hm....
I don't know if the two different splitting methods make a difference for the users. The kdemod-guys think their splitting method is more advanced, but I can't evaluate these statement.
Apart from that, the kdemod-guys add some features and bugfixes to their release:

The kdemod-team also have a extragear and playground repo, which I'm using sometimes to get "cool" packages like svn versions of popular applications.
Best regards
Flasher
