Awesome taskbar icons

Hey guys,

I've been playing with awesome for a couple of days and getting the hang of the lua config file. Anyway, I'm really happy with how it behaves, except I can't figure out how to set taskbar icons for all apps. Searching the forums I found a question dealing with removing icons, but my problem is the opposite.

Apps like firefox and thunderbird show a little icon in the taskbar, while urxvt and some other apps are missing any kind of icon. Now, I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with awesome in particular but with associating an icon with the application so that awesome can find it and display it in the taskbar, but I just can't figure out how to associate an icon with urxvt, for example.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
-igor

Re: Awesome taskbar icons

The icon is represented as _NET_WM_ICON in the window's properties. (See the xprop output.) A WM can set thiis even if the app doesn't do it on its own. I don't know how to accomplish it in Awesome, though.
