I would like to use tint2 as panel but since it has no support for launchers, I thought that I'll make one (I would like a "start" launcher for a drop-down menu) using iDesk (for the icon launcher) and Popdown (http://www.manatlan.com/page/popdown) (for the menu) . But iDesk doesn't work like I expected . It works only with composition enabled and even with composition, after I click the icon, it dissapears and comes back only if I click somewhere on the destkop.
The thing is, I could've used lxpanel which has a "start" menu but I like tint2 better and I would also like the icon for the launcher to be bigger then the panel (like in the picture).
Does anyone have any ideas how I can do this?
Or an app that will make a launcher, which if placed at top of the screen wouldn't be overlaped by maximized windows?
Or other solutions?
Thank you

I've been looking for something like this as well. I currently have gnome-panel at the top and tint2 at the bottom. the only reason gnome-panel is still existing is because of the gnome main menu
