is KDEmod more lightweight?

Hi,
Currently i'm using KDE. I like it but I feel like it's too bloated and occesionally notice some drag (not anything major but still). I want to give KDEmod a try. I have 2 questions:
1. whenever I try removing KDE it tells me there are dependency conflicts. How does one resolve that?
2. is KDEmod more lightweight than regular KDE?

1. we can't help you if you don't paste the relevant part.
2. no

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Post your machine specs too.  When I bumped from 4.2.3 to 4.3, I noticed that now some programs are about 10% slower (loadup, dolphin, kwrite).  Liked the speed of previous builds, hoping these are just bugs.

disabling nepomuk and akonadi may help too if you haven't done so.
