Hello, i earlir had an ATI card, but it broke a few days ago. I got my hands on a very cheap second-hand nvidia card, and put it in my machine. After installing the correct driver, everything worked smooth until i tried to wake my computer from suspend. The screen is black and i can hear system beeps when pressing buttons causing system beeps, and can reboot with the help of my magical sysrq key.
The card is a Geforce FX 5950 and i fail to find a single complain about suspend not working with it.

It's not clear what happened. Did you suspend the system before installing the card and are now trying to resume?
Offline
No. suspend worked perfectly before the installation, but after shutting off the computer, installing the card, booting up, installing the right drivers, suspending doesn't work correctly.

That did sound pretty much like my issue, but it didn't work at all. I also tried adding a resume hook as was suggested earlier, that didn't change anything either.
Piping the output of a suspend as root yielded nothing.
I don't think I've ever rebooted my computer as many times on one day as today!

I will go and change graphics card to an ATI similar to the one that broke, because it seems that nobody can/will help me.
