v4l monitor
Good daytime you all of you!
I have a v4l device (a webcam) on my headless machine (all drivers are working). How would I go about "monitoring" this stream - if the motion is detected - record and date a file?
Is there a ready-to use daemon? (No X.org installed)
And if not, where would I find some documentation about programming for v4l?

You may want to take a look at the program motion. Even if it's not what you want, the source code may be able to help.
