[SOLVED] Arch displays wrong time - 2 hours forward

Hi.
After package upgrade today and reboot, my clock displays wrong time - it's going 2 hours too fast.
I didn't changed anything in rc.conf. BIOS clock is fine.
I us localtime, timezone: Europe/Warsaw.

How can I repair it?

EDIT: I just used date to re-adjust my clock.

I may have been lucky but after experiencing this for two days, I reinstalled coreutils and that fixed it.

Re: [SOLVED] Arch displays wrong time - 2 hours forward

Same Problem, solved by setting "localtime" instead of "local" in rc.conf.
I don't know what changed because it worked before. Maybe an update in scripts that did recognize "local" but doesn't anymore ?

EDIT : [2009-08-24 13:37] upgraded initscripts (2009.07-3 -> 2009.08-1) that may be caused by that initscripts update !
EDIT 2 : It is the initscripts, I did not see I had a pacnew rc.conf

I had the exact same issue. I took the advice given here and removed rc.conf.pacnew, changed "local" to localtime but was still having issues. Bios clock was fine. My timezone was "America/Boise", I looked in /usr/share/zoneinfo for another city that has a similar zone. I put "America/Denver" in my rc.conf and it worked ever since.

Changing local to localtime fixed the issue for me as well.
I am not running neither ntpd nor openntpd.

Re: [SOLVED] Arch displays wrong time - 2 hours forward

I am having this problem as well AND running openntpd, actually I just installed it not 5 minutes after doing an -Syu which upgraded my coreutils package.   I removed the rc.conf.pacnew

changed hardware clock from UTC to localtime

Changed timezone from America/NewYork to US/Eastern.

the date command is still telling me the time is in EDT and is about 1 hour 20 min off.

Re: [SOLVED] Arch displays wrong time - 2 hours forward

probably a bad idea to post in a [SOLVED] thread; maybe start your own and link to this one?

also, by "i removed the rc.conf.pacnew" you did mean to say "i viewed the differences between my rc.conf and the pacnew file and merged any changes" right???

Re: [SOLVED] Arch displays wrong time - 2 hours forward

more like i moved the file to my home directory for safe keeping.  there's no real differences between the two files except the timezone in pacnew listing my timezone as pacific.
