Brother HL-2140 woes

Hello,

Let me preface this by saying that this printer works flawlessly with Ubuntu using the ppd located here.

I can't seem to get this printer to work correctly with Arch. When I tried using the brother-hl2140 drivers in the AUR, it would print off the page. When I tried using the ppd linked above, it wouldn't print at all, reporting an error: "/usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip failed". foomatic-db, foomatic-db-engine and foomatic-filters are all installed.

Any insight would be much appreciated!

Re: Brother HL-2140 woes

I use the Generic PCL 5e Printer foomatic/hpijs driver with my HL-2140 and I have no problems.

Install: foomatic-db-hpijs and hplip
