Severe sudo problems

I did a pacman -Syu yesterday after not updating for about a month.  The 2.6.31 kernel didn't recognize my wireless card (uses rt2780--similar problem to http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=82589) so I rolled back to 2.6.30, leaving everything else the same.  Now the wireless works but running sudo causes the terminal to freeze--no Ctrl-C or any other input is accepted.  This happens in both the login tty and urxvt.  There is also some strange behavior with Firefox (starts but freezes as soon as I click anything) and some occasional problems starting X (hangs on xauth).  A lot of other things work normally (xmonad seems to be working ok) so I can't put my finger on the problem.  Any suggestions as to which particular packages I could roll back?  Or, alternatively, regarding the wireless issue, so I could upgrade to the new kernel again?

I am running xmonad but still have GNOME installed.  Architecture is x86_64.

Re: Severe sudo problems

your symptoms sound alot like these issues: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … 84#p574584
which was a bug in rt2870 ( http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13638 ) that should have been fixed in kernel 2.6.31.

2.6.31 does work for me with rt2870.
