xfce4 wont start

Hi guys im so noob in all this,

After all the hard works I did installed archlinux!

Then I installed these packages,
#xfce4
#xfce-goodies
#dbus

I tried to start xfce by:
#Sudo /etc/rc.d/hal start
#startxfce4

Then I get this error that says,,:
Line 76: exec: xinit: not found

So after all the thinking! I installed
# xorg-xinit

But I got another error, I guess something is wrong with xwindow!
I don't think It even exist in /etc/X11

Plz help…

Re: xfce4 wont start

Could you post your xorg logfile?

Re: xfce4 wont start

You need more than just 'xorg-xinit', without 'xorg-server' you don't actually have X. Not sure what else is required for a bare bones X, but I'd suggest just installing the 'xorg' group as per the beginners guide.
