[solved] xorg downgrade / upgrade problem

After downgrading to xorg 1.6 =>

http://www.chakra-project.org/bbs/viewtopic.php?id=1829

to see if 3d acceleration would work (it did not) I reinstalled 1.7 but now my 2 external monitors are not recognized correctly anymore. I'm left with
my laptop lcd and one external monitor.

xrand does not recognize the screens as before the downgrade/upgrade procedure. I get :

default connected 1400x1050+0+0 0mm x 0mm

I had LVDS, DVI-0 and VGA-0 before, now they are gone.
Maybe xorg 1.6 left some config-files that are in the way now after the 1.7 reinstall?

xorg 1.6 somehow got rid of the radeon driver, reinstalling that one did the trick.

If you are referring to the radeonhd driver as 'radeon', you might want to use the regular xf86-video-ati package. It seems the radeonhd driver is on its way out.
