VBox 3.1.6_OSE X Resolution

Ubuntu x86_64 host, Arch 2.6.-34 (i686) guest.

Just ran through the excellent Beginner's Guide and followed steps from the VirtualBox article on the wiki.

I have the resolution in my console set correctly in grub at 775 (1280x1024). The problem I'm having is with X.

When using the VBox Guest Additions script, I came across this: "Warning: unknown version of the X Window System installed.  Not installing X Window System drivers."

The VBox drivers must not support this version of X

X -version
X.Org X Server 1.8.1.902 (1.8.2 RC 2)

This is clarified here.

When extracting the .run file and looking through the .sh, there's nothing that relates to this. Any ideas?

My xorg
My rc.conf
Feel free to move this. Thanks

Re: VBox 3.1.6_OSE X Resolution

I'm going to compile the latest version of Virtualbox-OSE on the host and see if that helps.

EDIT: Just to say this was the issue. The current version of Vbox-OSE in Ubuntu 10.04 is not compatible.

Of course you will need to change the Device driver in xorg.conf to "vboxvideo" smile
