tint2 question how to use 2 panels

Hi again!

THis might seem a noobish question , but i would like to put the system tray with the clock on the top of the desktop and at the bottom the tasks .

How do i do that ? Do i need to make two tint2 configuration files ?

Thanks !

Re: tint2 question how to use 2 panels

From "man tint2"

tint2 -c <config_file>

But I am not sure if you can disable taskbar in one of the panels. A work around would be to keep the background ids of the taskbar, tasks and the panel same, with all text and icons disabled, thus making it look invisible. Post back if you find another way to do so.

Re: tint2 question how to use 2 panels

You can start two tint2 panels :

tint2 -c /path_to_config_file &

In first config leave tray and clock , in second tasks only .

Re: tint2 question how to use 2 panels

Nearly the same situation. I did split up the panel int two parts, one of them dedicated to clock and tray which I wanted to show with different colors on my display. I solved this with these two configuration files.

tint2rc, the main panel display:
