SOLVED F.fox" mirror untrusted"

reading beginners man in section 3.2.4   Mirror check for up-to-date packages

ArchLinux Mirrorcheck html link when linked out of fire fox version 3.6.3

https://users.archlinux.de/~gerbra/mirrorcheck.html

States this connection is untrusted.

My question is do I have an alternative ?

users.archlinux.de uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is not trusted.

(Error code: sec_error_untrusted_issuer)

Some of the official mirrors may contain packages that are out-of-date. ArchLinux Mirrorcheck  reports various aspects about the mirrors such as network problems with mirrors, data collection problems, the last time mirrors have been synced, etc.

One may wish to manually inspect /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist, ensuring that the file contains only up-to-date mirrors if having the latest package versions is a priority.

Don't hurt me I'm a fuzzy newbe.

Yes I used search first.

A wild guess: do you have http://www.archlinux.org/packages/core/ … tificates/ installed?
The sites uses encryption and is Authenticated by CAsert Inc - means it's legit.

Don't worry, I like fuzzy newbies. For breakfast ;P

the new one is here:

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Re: SOLVED F.fox" mirror untrusted"

Thanks ...No I don't have any ArchLinux installed yet

I'm reading as much of the guides , wiki's and mans as I can before I install on my other machine

All I have done so far is download and burn iso to disk.

thanks

Both links are fine, but firefox doesn't know it, probably because you don't have a list of the certified sites installed.
