No HDMI output whatsoever

I'm using an ATI 3200 HD card (RS780 I think) and I've read through the forum and google with no luck. I've tried xf86-video-ati and radeonhd AND radeonhd-git with the same result. xrandr detects the connection but changing resolutions and positions still leaves my tv blank. It works fine under windows and the catalyst driver. I read something about TV's giving a bad EDID but I'm not sure what to make of that. Any ideas?

Re: No HDMI output whatsoever

I should add my two cents, then.

My graphics card is nVidia so it may not be much help. When I used the close source drivers, it had a tool to adjust the outputs (nvidia-settings). So ATI may have one, too. I have been using the open source Nouveau drivers and I can adjust the outputs with arandr (a GUI for xrandr). You can give it a try. I see that you have already tried the xrandr way, but I also see that you used it with close source drivers. That didn't work for me with the close source drivers, either.

Thanks for your idea; unfortunately arandr makes the messing with my resolution much easier but HDMI still doesn't work.
