Splashy upgrade results in overlarge fonts

I just upgraded my system, splashy included. Am using the archlinux-simplyblack-43 theme. Everything works but the details on what is being done on the splash font is overly large and hidden by the taskbar - looks really starnge. Was fine before upgrade. Has anyone else noticed this or any ideas?
