Network Daemon: prioritizing networks.

On my laptop I run netcfg with net-profiles, no problem.  On my desktop, it seems sensible to use the network daemon since I will be connecting to only one network (as per the wiki).  However, whenever I run the network daemon at boot, it connects to an unencrypted network--not my wpa2 home network.  This makes sense given that I haven't supplied a network name or password (other than in wpa_supplicant).

My question--questions--are these:
-Should the network daemon be reading from wpa_supplicant?
-If not, where should I specify network profiles?
-Is it impossible to connect to encrypted networks with the network daemon?

Thanks!

Re: Network Daemon: prioritizing networks.

Something just clicked for me.  I'm not running the wpa_supplicant daemon at boot.  Should doing so solve my problem, and what should I add to rc.conf DAEMON section to start it at boot?

Usually I do: wpa_supplicant -B -Dwext -i wlan0 -c /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf manually

Is it DAEMONS=(wpa_suppl)?
