Can Anyone Give Me Step By Step Instructions To Making Bmpanel2 Work?

And the bmpanel2cfg tool.

Start by assuming I don't have the foggiest idea what cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/blah/blah means or what I'm supposed to do with it.

Also: python commands give me a headache. And bmpanel2cfg is written in python.

OK...

Step-by step stuff is just not Arch - certainly not here in the forum. The wiki does get into more detail, but you still have to remember that Arch is essentially a DIY distro. bmpanel2 has its own website, probably a good place to start.

Regarding your lack of foggy ideas, I'm sure you will be happy to hear that the bmpanel2 dev has put it in the AUR, thereby relieving you of the apparently insurmountable task of learning how to use cmake.

So all that's left for you now is to convince the aforementioned dev to drop python - go with that headache thing, I'm sure he'll understand.
