Re: n/a

Hi.

My system is not in english so I'm not sure if I understand everything you've tried already. ^^;

Did you try to activate the Subpixels at Fonts > Details > Subpixel (LCDs)? If I deactivate it my fonts look exactly like yours.
Sorry, I can't think of something else it could be at the moment.

Re: n/a

What symlinks do you have activated in /etc/fonts/conf.d? Your settings might not include antialiasing—those glyphs are definitely aliased. Make sure that 10-antialias.conf is symlinked in that directory. Or add its contents to your ~/.fonts.conf:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!DOCTYPE fontconfig SYSTEM "fonts.dtd">
<fontconfig>
<!--  Use the Antialiasing -->
  <match target="font">
    <edit name="antialias" mode="assign"><bool>true</bool></edit>
  </match>
</fontconfig>

Re: n/a

For myself, I still like non antialiased font. I think it is sharper and more comfortable to read. Antialiased fonts always look fuzzy for me, how good the antialiasing is.

But I am aware that almost nobody share my opinion. Anyway, here is how I have configured my fonts

This require a few modification in the font configuration and installation of Microsoft fonts, reply to this post for more information (I am actually not sure that anyone is interesting in that look).
