Archlinux tuning[SOLVED]

Hello Folks,

people say that there are so many ways to tune linux OS. I would like to tune my arch linux. At the moment, I am using gnome as desktop environment. It is a fresh installed OS.

Just a second ago, I saw the following video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mujDZDj5 … re=related

What is this window manager called? is it possible to have this window manager on GNOME desktop environment? I have seen such cool window managers with openbox. But do not know If I can integrate this kind of feature in gnome...

Which combinations did you use to tune up your system visually? Please post some links here for this kind of cool themes window managers, icons etc....

Thanks in advance.

That window manager _is_ called Awesome.

And yes, as far as I know, it is possible to change the WM in Gnome.

Personally I just use OpenBox, but is possible to run OpenBox WM within Gnome Desktop Enviro.
If you want OpenBox within in Gnome Desktop Enviro. you can read this guide:

Did you configure it yourself? Can you please consult me with the particular configuration?

Re: Archlinux tuning[SOLVED]

As stated before, I just use OpenBox without Gnome Desktop Enviroment.

I followed the ArchLinux OpenBox guide found here:

Re: Archlinux tuning[SOLVED]

Hello there,

The Arch Wiki actually gives instructions on running Openbox with Gnome:

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Openbox

The Wiki entry also includes links to plenty of software, starting from panels and such.
