Turn OFF wifi led (iwl3945)

Hi

Is it possible to turn off the wifi led? I tried setting: option iwl3945 led=0 in modprobe.conf, but with no result. It's just really bright on this HP in dark environments,

What are the possibilties?

Rebuild kernel with led support off somehow?
Turn it off using a single command?
etc.

Thanks

I suspect that is a hardware thing that you would not be able to do from the operating system. I have solved overly bright LED's with a small, nicely cut piece of black electrical tape placed carefully! ;-)

Philosophy is looking for a black cat in a dark room. Metaphysics is looking for a black cat in a dark room that isn't there. Religion is looking for a black cat in a dark room that isn't there and shouting "I found it!". Science is looking for a black cat in a dark room with a flashlight.

Hah, good call with the tape :-).. if I can't do it by recompiling the kernel, I guess that's where I'm going.

Try this
Disabling LED blink.

Hi

This would just make it solid, if you have blinking issues.. not working to turn it off completely.

I thought, that if you set value to 0, it will turn it off.  Sorry for that.

Actually, setting it to 0 stopped my driver from even loading hehe.. weird. I guess all that's left is recompiling the driver, without led support. I'm still waiting on a reply on how to do this :-).

Thanks for helping tho.

This is how it is done on my Asus notebook. Maybe there is similar solution for your HP.
echo "0" > /sys/devices/platform/asus_laptop/wlan
