Ive been trying to setup Wtorrent for some time now and i havent gotten it completely working. Apache, Lighttpd, and rTorrent have all been installed from pacman. Wtorrent is from SVN
Ive tried both apache and lighttpd, without success, i get everything working but wtorrent doesnt communicate to rtorrent when i run install.php. I get the error
Error: cannot connect to rtorrent, please check host, folder and port values (and user/password if you have auth set up).
All my ports are setup correctly and whatnot and i dont have auth setup. i dont understand what went wrong.
Ive followed the guide for wtorrent on the wiki, googled around. tried many configurations. I just reinstalled ArchLinux from ArchServer (still in beta, didnt work well for me) I used RuTorrent then but i didnt like it very much (no login prompt) Im using this on the internet not locally so i need a login prompt for everything i use.
Please tell me what logs/configs you need, ill try to give them to you.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section or hard to read, im a bit tired right now.

I personally found lighttpd way easier to set up than apache, and if your only purpose is having a front-end for rTorrent, then lighttpd is plenty.
Have you set up an SCGI socket? If that's a yes, have you checked your wTorrent/Apache logs? I use ruTorrent myself, and I think you can make your HTTP server request authentication, I don't think you need support in the front-end for that.

No, i had not but i just set it up and it still does not work and netstat -l puts out:
netstat -l:
Active Internet connections (only servers)
Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State
tcp 0 0 *:sunrpc *:* LISTEN
tcp 0 0 *:www *:* LISTEN
tcp 0 0 *:817 *:* LISTEN
tcp 0 0 *:ftp *:* LISTEN
tcp 0 0 *:ssh *:* LISTEN
tcp 0 0 *:38044 *:* LISTEN
tcp 0 0 localhost.localdom:5000 *:* LISTEN
Is localhost.localdom the same as 127.0.0.1 or just plain localhost?

Yes it is. Anything useful in the logs?

We don't close threads around here when problems are solved (or worked around) .
